About Kari Kay


Kari Kay is a vivacious lover of life! Having experienced many great adventures on her South Dakota farm with her two sons and many pets (including the real Floppy Cat), Kari Kay created the Floppy Cat series as a way of sharing the inspiration of the real Floppy's life with children everywhere. She is creatively working to share her knowledge through more books, songs, and an interactive website that will continually bring joy and happiness to parents and their children.

Kari Kay wrote the Floppy Cat story with hopes that it would inspire life-enhancing conversations between parents and their children. Floppy symbolizes the positive, never-give-up attitude that we should all have. His outlook on life is a positive one, never looking at his challenges as obstacles but more as opportunities to grow and learn from.

Floppy Cat

Floppy Cat is a charming story based on the life of a REAL cat that didn't fit in! Instead of running, leaping, and pouncing like all the other cats, Floppy stumbles from side to side as he travels across the rickety barn floor. Every step he takes is a challenge, and sometimes he wonders why he has to be so different.

One day while the other cats are basking in the sun, Floppy is flip flopping across the farmyard, exploring every nook and cranny, searching for a new and exciting adventure. Then he makes an amazing discovery that changes the way he looks at everything — especially himself! Floppy's attitude becomes very evident — Enjoy Life!
